Sanjay Singhal Advances to Runoff After Leading in District 2 City Council Race

Sanjay Singhal emerged as the frontrunner in the Sugar Land City Council District 2 race, earning the highest number of votes in the first round of the election held on May 3. With strong support from across the district, Sanjay’s message of transparency, resident-first leadership and smart growth clearly resonated with voters.

Because no candidate received over 50% of the vote, the race will head to a runoff election, which is officially scheduled for Saturday, June 7.

“I’m deeply grateful for the trust District 2 voters have placed in our campaign,” said Sanjay. “This is a vote for open, accountable government and a city that listens to its residents. The work continues, and I’m ready to keep earning your support.”
